Olivia is 8 months!

Happy 8 months Olivia! I can not believe 8 months has gone by, not to mention we only have 4 months until you turn 1! Let's not rush it and enjoy these last few "baby" months while they're here. You are one amazing little girl :)

Awesome Customer Service

I don't know about you, but customer service is major to me. It breaks or makes my experience with that particular company.
PLAYTEX PUMP Pictures, Images and Photos
It's not a secret that I nurse my baby, she is now 8 months old and may not be nursing much longer. However, I still need a pump once in a while.
I bought the Petite Double Electric from Playtex back in September, knowing that I would not need it all that often. Since then, while this is not necessarily a good thing, my pump has needed one piece or another replaced every two months. I just wanted to give major kudos to Playtex though, because each time something has gone wrong they were there to back their product 100%. I call, and then get my replacement part within 24 hours. With that said, I do like the pump a lot for occasional use when it is working order. It's pretty quiet, and comfortable.

Wordless Wednesday

Ryan was goofing around with the camera, and took this picture of us. I don't think he did too bad for a 4 year old!

Not me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not go out on a sledding outing with Ryan's school just for us to go down the hill once and wipe out completely, leaving Ryan with major doubts about going back down the hill. He most definitely did not refuse to go down the rest of the night, which meant we did not spend the rest of the night playing in snow banks instead!

I did not get to spend an awesome girls' night out this past weekend. We did not have an amazing dinner of sushi, risotto, caesar salad and a bottle of pino grigio. We then did not finish the evening dancing our booties off and having a great time!

I did not finish said girls' night out by coming back to my vehicle at 2 a.m. to find out it would not start! It was not 0*, and my phone was not dead. I did not break one of my heels dancing and have to go without shoes, and I didn't have to beg my way back into the bar while they were closing so that I could use their phone. Oh well, having fun with the girls definitely did not make it worth all the hassle.

Wordless Wednesday - mullet style

Here's Rob. I gave him a mullet before finishing his hair cut. I came pretty close to peeing my pants when I took these. I hope you think they are a fraction of how funny I thought it was at the time :) I promise I had permission to post them!
and just to show you that he doesn't always "sport" the mullet, he can be kind of cute ;)

The Worst Week

No, not the TV show. Which is actually pretty funny.
My week. Olivia has a cold, and is not eating as much, so I'm engorged. My breast pump broke, this is the second time since I bought it in September. I took her to the pediatrician's office yesterday to rule out any ear infections, etc. to find out she is fine, but to have the nurse practitioner give me a hard time and tell me that my baby is not getting enough cereal. I will take advice, but not when it is condescending. Our furnace stopped working at 4 this morning, while we have sub-zero temps outside. I think I need a cocktail...

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I haven't done one of these in a while, and really, I thought it would be quite therapeutic as MckMama says, for me to take some time out for a Not Me! Monday.

I did not talk my husband into taking our son to his mothers by himself last night for dinner(we were all invited), and tell my MIL that my daughter was sick, because I just wanted to stay at home and "veg out" on the couch last night. I definitely would not have asked him to take our daughter too, had they not been going sledding as well.
I did not drink 3 white Russians at a friends dinner party on Saturday night and make my husband drive to the 24 hour Walgreens at midnight in 0* weather during a horrible snowstorm so that I could pick up milk screen in the event that my daughter may wake up before the alcohol were out of my system.
I did not laugh about milk screen when I first came across a box of them several months ago, and say "who would need these?".
I did not bribe my son with a piece of candy while I reading a book, almost to end of a chapter when he wanted the forbidden moon sand down from a very high shelf. I then did not hide the moon sand behind something else and talk him into playing a game with me instead. Has anyone else lived the moon sand experience?

Who could resist?!

When my second born woke up in the wee hours this morning, just to clearly get warm and cozy in bed with me, I simply could not resist her. How could you? Just look at her! I had a hard time crawling out of bed at 8 a.m. while she continued sleeping on all snuggled up, actually she is still sleeping as I type this at 9:15.
I know pretty soon she'll be up and ready to go, like she in this picture:
Seriously, can you blame me for not denying her? :)

My Hair Dryer

Yep, I wanted to share with you my Hair dryer. The thing is awesome. I own a Solano Hair Dryer. While the one is not listed that I own, because I have had it for 6 years, I can tell you that the new styles are just as good if not better. We use them in our salon. They are quieter and more efficient. I just have a hard time getting rid of mine while it still works. It still works amazingly after moving several times, being dropped on the floor I don't know how many times, and even being dropped in the (clean) toilet! So, if you're on the market for a new dryer, get a Solano!!

A little history

I'm going to make this short and sweet so as not to bore you. I have been a cosmetologist for 6 years now. I attended Douglas J Aveda Institute. Very awesome school, I wish it had lasted even longer. Aveda-hands down one of my favorite product lines out there. In the past 6 years I've worked for same salon/day spa. They have been very flexible with me and my babies. Awesome. I've tried many products and tools and over time want to share some of these with you. Literally and Physically. Through some contests. For all different hair types. I've attended numerous classes and many hair shows so if you ever have any questions don't hesitate to ask!!

Wordless Wednesday - a look back

Rob and I about 3 years ago. A time when I was not pregnant or nursing. I just love how much we love each other and hope it continues on.... (I'm not sure about the guy behind Rob, what he is doing that is)

Operation: Fat Ass

I'm at the same weight, no loss, no gain. The Holidays seem to be officially over, so I am really taking a stand now. I've gotten out my ball, exercise ball, and have started using that in the evenings. I think I'm going to start some spinning classes, but haven't quite fit it into the budget or schedule.
I just so happened to be watching the Martha Stewart show this morning where this was brought up, and cought my attention. So I jumped on the computer to check it out and wholeliving.com has turned out to be an awesome website, with some awesome tools to help me achieve my desired weight. I signed up for the body and soul challenge which begins this week. They have great ideas for recipes too. Check it out!

Beautiful Day!

-okay so the layout cut off part of these images, sorry! Just thought I'd throw in the disclaimer so you didn't think I was taking just partial photos of the kids :)

The kids and I played outside today, and it was really quite refreshing. The sun was shining, and the temp. wasn't too bad at 27* The kids had a blast, and are exhausted now, yay for a good nights sleep!! Here are a couple pictures.

1 year in review

2008 was pretty much a typical year for me! Nothing really to complain about, but a lot to be thankful for. I'll share a few of my most memorable moments through some photos.

This is Ryan and I New Years Eve 2007

Ryan learned how to ice skate, ski and snow shoe all in 2008

myself pregnant with my second child, unknown at the time what gender our next baby would be!

The birth of the our second baby, a girl! Olivia Reese (not sure why this uploaded upside down?)

Ryan turned 4!

We took a relaxing vacation on a beach a few hours away from us.

enjoyed a few boat rides...

Ryan started his first day of his last year of pre-school!

and I tried using cloth diapers.......part time
