Happy Green Bee-Review and Giveaway

About Happy Green Bee:

Roxanne Quimby, who has an amazing history herself, started Happy Green Bee when she saw a void in children's clothing. All I have to say is wow! Roxanne is truly amazing and I encourage you to view her video on Happy Green Bees press page from the Today Show.

Happy Green Bee has a simple philosophy, "We created Happy Green Bee so that a child can be a child, first and foremost," Quimby explains. "By using organic cotton, a comfortable and practical fabric, and simple bee-striped patterns, children feel as comfortable as they look while their parents take a small step in making a big difference in the environment their children live in."

What I love:

I love that every item made at Happy Green Bee is made 100% organic. There are so many reasons to buy organic. For me it is important to buy organic, because I feel like I am taking even better care of my family. Knowing that the materials that touch their skin are 100% organic give me assurance. Not only is the organic fiber better for their skin, but it is oh so soft! The colors are bright and vibrant. They remain bright and vibrant after washing, and also the fabric does not shrink or stretch.

Included in my Happy Green Bee package was some information on how they are a Fair Trade organization. Now I am still learning about Fair Trade myself, but here is a quote from Wikipediea "Fair trade's strategic intent is to work with marginalized producers and workers in order to help them move towards economic self-sufficiency and stability."

Happy Green Bee was so nice to provide The Petal Dress in the Watermelon/Sky color for Olivia.
Immediately upon opening I noticed how soft the dress felt. Olivia also was very comfortable crawling and cruising in her dress. Now Olivia is 20 lbs, and I requested the size "medium" (20-25 lbs.), just in case. I always round up when ordering for her. The dress was just a little big, but honestly still looks very cute on! I would almost recommend going big, because now she can wear it as a longer dress, and I'm sure it will last her at least a couple more inches of growth before it becomes too short. It was a little cooler the day she wore it, so when we headed out for errands I just threw on some leggings in a fun color! She received compliments everywhere we went!

To Buy:

You can purchase your own Petal Dress, among many other items from Happy Green Bee for just $36.00.

To Win:

Happy Green Bee has generously offered one of my readers their choice of up to $50 in merchandise! You get to choose what you would like as long as it does not exceed $50.

Why I love EcoStore:

EcoStore generously offered me a product to review and I chose the Pure Oxygen Whitener. I am on a quest to use healthier eco-friendly cleaning products around our house, especially on the clothing that touches our skin. You would not believe how fast I go through a jug of bleach around here. Whether it be for the laundry or general cleaning purposes, I use it a lot. So of course I was intrigued by the Pure Oxygen Whitener. Here is a demo I put toghether....

A few key points:
  • The odor was almost non-existent, and it did not burn my nostrils!
  • It really worked! I've spot treated and used it as a booster to my whites. I also used as a booster to wash my floors, and they truly felt cleaner than usual after!
  • It's eco-friendly-good for my family, good for the atmosphere
  • Safe for even our babies' clothes
  • Contains oil of citrus and Coconut and other plant-based ingredients
To Buy: You can purchase your own container of EcoStore USA's Pure Oxygen Whitener for just $12. Each container holds 35.3 ounces, and using only 1-2 tablespoons per use makes it go a long way. Be sure to check out their many other cleaning products available while you're there!

Baby Kakes Ink-Review and Giveaway

About BabyKakesInk:

Catherine Stephens, Owner and Director of BabyKakesInk, started with the inspiration of her two daughters Emma Kerri and Avery Nicole. She has loved making and creating things since she was little herself. Upon the arrival of her first daughter, she gave up a 10 year career. 21 months later they were ecstatic to have not one but two daughters to make and create beautiful clothing and bows for.

From Catherine, "It started as a dream in my heart and through the happiness I found when giving my creations as gifts for Birthdays, Christenings, and Baby showers."

2 years later BabyKakesInk was born. The name came easy to her as she has called her daughter Baby Kakes since birth! I can relate as I also call my little girl Baby Kakes!

At BabyKakesInk they strive to not only bring forth their own creations but also those of the hottest and most unique trends today.

What I Love:

I came across BabyKakesInk while searching for some fun and stylish yet comfortable clothing
for Olivia. When i saw the baby on the home page, sporting the same name as my daughter, I knew I needed one of these! Catherine was so nice to send an Alphabet Onsie for Olivia. We chose the CoaCoa & Pink dot onsie with Olivia's name embellished, exactly as the one pictured!

The onsie is soft yet durable. I like that the sleeves on the onsie are actually a little bit longer than your average onsie. It also seems a little thicker, a very nice quality material. The attached bow could not be cuter. It is very versatile. We took it off for naps and to wash. When Olivia gets some hair she will be able to use the bow beyond growing out of the onsie even. It is very obvious that the onsie was made with care and attention to detail. You can dress it up with a tutu or a skirt, or just pair it with pants, shorts, a diaper cover or by itself!

The Alphabet onsies are available in sizes 0-3 months to 12-18 months, and Alphabet Tees are available through size 6.

BabyKakesInk offers a variety of items ranging from the nursery, clothing, accessories, gear, gift registry and wrap, burps and bumbs and bibs and blankets. All would be perfect for gifts or your own children.

To Buy:

Visit BabyKakesInk and for $30 to $36 you could purchase your own Alphabet tee or onsie for your little boy or girl. While you're there make sure to check out the other fabulous items!

To Win:

BabyKakesInk has generously offered one of my readers a chance to win their own Alphabet onsie or tee! Please go to the website, and then come back here and in the comments tell me which one you would choose.

My Favorite Things - Agoo-Clothes for Active Kids

This week I'm talking about clothes, in particular a jacket that I received from Agoo. With spring here, Ryan is outside even more than he was in the winter. I kid you not, the child could live outside. I found this jacket on their website, and my first impression was that it was a great deal for a good jacket! Second impression was that it would look really cool on Ryan. We received it in a matter of two days, along with a pair of ruffle pants for Olivia (VERY cute) and a vest for Ryan, that is very nice but still a little big.

I'm not entirely sure what the exact material of the jacket is, but it is amazing. Very soft on the inside and protective on the outside, it is very flexible for my active little boy. It is durable and I know it will last us as long as Ryan will fit in it and beyond. The fabrics they use wick away moisture, are stain resistant, anti bacterial and UV protectant. Ryan and I could not love this jacket more.

You may remember this post about leg huggers. Agoo is the company behind Leg Huggers! Do you remember how much I love the leg huggers (and still do)?

a goo {n}: 1. joy from experiencing something for the first time. 2. a state of pride and great happiness. 3. gift of discovery. "had and agoo" slang 1. the exhileration after an intial experience. Synonyms: serendipity, exitement, elation, thrill, enthusiasm and delight.

Please go here for Agoo's story.

Eebee's Adventures-Review and Giveaway

Every Baby Company recently sent our family 3 of their Eebee's Adventure DVDs. Exploring Real Stuff, All in a Days Play and Figuring Things Out were all included.

Now, I'm not an advocate of the kids watching a lot of TV, but this is definitely something that is educational and worth watching, even as a family. There is fun music and interactive play involved that does not zone the kids into the tube. Instead they were dancing and learning about new ways to explore with every day items we have sitting around our house.

What I loved the most is that even though these are geared towards babies 6 months and up and 12 months and up, my 4 year old was able to watch and learn a few things. Such as how to interact with his 10 month old sister in a way that is more age appropriate for her, and still fun for him! To me, this was very awesome to see.

Here is some footage that I was able to capture of my two interacting with each other:

(don't mind our crazy living room, the kids were having a blast as you can see!)

Eebee's adventures has much more to offer as well! You can find toys, gifts, books and clothing on their website. There is spot to register your email for Birthday Party ideas, and they also have Birthday invites, thanks you notes, parent info, ideas and printables to offer.

To Buy:
Visit Every Baby Company, Eebee's Adventure website. Each DVD retails at just 17.95 or you can purchase all three for just 48.95. While you're there, check out what else they have to offer!

To Win:

The Conception Kit: The Next Step in Fertility (big giveaway)

Victoria at Life Starring Ellie and Eve is hosting The March Maternity Jamboree this month. Among many other wonderful prizes, she is offering one luck person the chance to win The Conception Kit: The Next Step in Fertility.

What is the Conception Kit?

The Conception Kit, made by Conceviex Inc, is the intermediate step for people who are tired of “just” trying every month, but who aren’t ready to or who don’t have the resources or medical indications for fertility treatments. So what is the Conception Kit? On top of the instruction manuals, fertility journal and conception wheel, the Conception Kit contains a three single month kits which are designed to help increase your chances of conception. What are in each of these single month kits?

* Ovulation Predictors
* A Conception Cap
* A semen collector
* Intimate moisturizer
* Pregnancy Test

For more information on the step by step process, please see Victoria's post.

The Conception Kit retails for $299.95, which may seem expensive, but compared to what you would be paying for fertility treatments, it is actually economical. This product is FDA approved and has been through clinical trials testing out its’ effectiveness. You can use this with fertility medications like Clomid, and it is recommended that you speak with your doctor while pursuing this option. Another thing I like about this kit is the fact that it can be used in the privacy of your own home; no trips to the doctor’s office and poking and prodding.

The Conception Kit is also good for people who are going non-traditional routes to become pregnant. For couples who are using a sperm donor who they know in order to conceive this is a great product since it takes out the physican middleman. This kit is also good for same sex couples who are looking to have a child; lesbian couples who have a sperm donor or gay couples who have a surrogate mother.

You can find success stories and more information on the Conception Kit site. Along with a free DVD offer.

What will you win?

One lucky winner will receive a Conception Kit for FREE, a $300 value! To Enter: Go Check out the Conception Kit and then come back and tell me something you learned. YOU CAN ENTER THIS EVERY DAY!!! ENDS April 15 @ 8 PM EST

Pure and Little-Review and Giveaway

closed

I'm very excited today to share with you the company, Pure and Little.

About Pure and Little:

Pure and Little offers a very wide variety of items for your little one that are 100% organic and eco-friendly. Safe for your child and the environment.

They believe that your baby should be surrounded with the comfort of fibers that are pure and soft. Natural.

Pure and Little carries a selection of organic, natural and healthy products for baby and toddler including clothing; bedding & blankets; bath & body; bibs & bottles; toys; gifts; laundry care; music & books.

Why I love Pure and Little:

Most importantly, because everything they have to offer for your child is 100% organic. I've been slowly changing over our lives to live in a more "green" fashion. I'm not stressing over it, but I try to do something small every day to improve. I've only been recently introduced to organic baby clothing and I am in love.

Pure and Little was kind enough to let Olivia and I review the Oscar & Belle grow suit with feet in the Dahlia Stripe. Oscar & Belle is made in the U.S.A and is produced ethically.

The first thing I noticed when I received the grow suit was the packaging. It was packaged quite nicely and packaged with recycled material.

Immediately after removing the grow suit, I noticed it was very soft, right from the box. Not starchy like most new clothing is. I knew we would love it. It even smelled fresh and pure. The colors are great, a soft pink and white, perfect for your baby.

Olivia has been very comfortable wearing this. The size is exactly as it states. Olivia is nearly 10 months old, and we received the 6-12 month size. It fits her perfectly with a little room to grow. It washes nicely without any fading, stretching or shrinking.

I am in love with this company, and will remain a customer for many years to come. Weather it is for my own child or a gift for someone else.

To Buy:

If you want your very own Oscar & Belle grow suit with feet also offered in the colors dew or basket, visit Pure & Little where it is listed for just $36. Be sure to check out the many other items they have to offer while you are there!

The Giveaway:

Pure and Little has generously offered one of my readers their very own Peanut Gift Set, including a Peanut Organic Blankie and a Peanut Organic burp cloth and bib. Altogether at a value of $55. This is a very precious gender friendly set, perfect for your own baby or would make a very nice gift for any baby that you know!

Mutsy product review and discount

About Mutsy:

Mutsy, originally founded as Mutsaerts in 1935, got its start building traditionally styled prams. Initially serving the Benelux countries of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, the idea of portability and comfort were critical given these countries’ emphasis on walking. The result was larger than normal wheels to provide improved maneuverability and a smoother ride for baby. The company was purchased by long-time employee Cees Driessen in the 1980s.

The Mutsy collection is expertly designed to meet parents’ every need with a unique modular system that is extremely flexible. The basis of the Mutsy range is three frames, each with its own specific features. The flexible system also allows for a child to grow with his/her Mutsy stroller for many years.

What I love:

With Spring in full bloom now I wanted to focus on the rider line in Mutsy strollers.
  • The 4 Rider stroller offers pure flexibility and it is light weight weighing in at just 23.2 lbs.
  • You can remove the seat to put in to the babysitter frame.
  • You can put in a bassinet for infants up to 6 months of age to lie flat in.
  • The seat can face both directions, forward and back, and fully reclines with a 3 position leg rest.
  • Its frame and single-spoke wheels along with pneumatic tires that swivel at the front, offer an ultra-smooth ride no matter what the terrain.
  • The Mutsy 4 Rider Stroller conveniently folds with the optional bassinet and the seat attached to the frame. While in the folded position, you can easily remove the wheels and provide a compact alternative for use in your car as well.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to this stroller. I highly recommend this for any parent of young children.

The Mutsy baby transport collection also features the Slider, a new baby mobility concept with a revolutionary design and the Easygrow high chair and the Grow-Up! booster seat, two of the most stylish mealtime accessories for baby.

My Favorite Things-giveaway

Welcome to week numero dos of my favorite things. I'm going to stay on the hair subject for today and tell you about my favorite shampoo and detangler for my little ones. Don't get me wrong, I love some good ole' classic Johnson's baby shampoo.

What I really love though is Mop pear shampoo for infants, toddlers and sensitive scalps. Not only is it wonderful for their hair but it smells delicious. Who doesn't love a fresh baby out of the bath?! Just imagine the fresh smell of pear on their soft heads. It works great for both my baby and my preschooler.

Now, with my baby I do not have to worry about this yet. However, even though my 4 year old is a boy, he still has a ton of hair. We need a detangler. We use the Mop pear detangler and saves for a fuss when combing the hair out of the bath. I can imagine this gets even more difficult if you have a child with long hair. It creates smooth tangle-less hair, minus any build up. It smells just as fresh as the shampoo.

I have for you a chance to win your very own mop pear shampoo and detangler set.

To Win:
leave a comment telling me how bad you want these, or visit the Mop products website and tell me about something else of theirs you would like to try!

Bummas-Review and Giveaway

I recently discovered Bummas, and when I did, I knew Bummas would make our diaper changing routine much easier and time friendly. Not only that, but Olivia would have a rash free bum. Bummas have many features that I will go over with you and they are quite versatile.

Bummas are used to prevent diaper rash, as the quote goes on their website, "After the wipe and before the dipe, use a soft kiss of cloth to dry bums off!" I think this fits their description perfectly. I no longer have to sit fanning Olivia's bum with the new diaper to dry her before I put the new diaper on. I just wipe gently after the wet wipe and before I put the clean diaper on. I cloth diaper part time, so when I'm using cloth, I will use two or more Bummas and get one or two wet and then dry with another. I then just wash them with my cloth diapers. If you don't cloth diaper, no big deal! I've washed them with a load of light colors. They wash nicely and remain soft each time.

Olivia has recently had a runny nose, due to a cold or teething, I'm not sure. Instead of using kleenex after kleenex, I've used a Bummas. It is so soft on her nose, and she does not fuss as she usually does with a kleenex.

They are the perfect size, and easy to take along in a diaper bag. If you have a boy, you can use them to "Avert the squirt" as they say. I have a boy, who is long since out of diapers, but if I'd known about Bummas when he was a wee one, you can bet I would have used them! You can use them for shoulder armor while burping, we all know that is a necessity, especially in those early months! Also as wash clothes during a bath, much softer on their sensitive skin than your typical wash cloth.

They come in packs of ten, and you can choose from 4 different color combinations. We chose "the girls", the colors are very fun and vibrant. They are made of 100% cotton-woven velour terry cloth, and again I'm going to say just how soft and luxurious they are!

Bummas has generously offered one of my readers a chance to win their own set of Bummas in their choice of color. Thank you Bummas!

To Buy: Visit Bummas and for 16.99 you can purchase your very own 10 pack of Bummas in any of the 4 color combinations

To Win: Visit the Bummas website and then come back here and in the comments tell me which color combination of Bummas you love.

hard to reach areas

Dyson Domestic Diva
We all have those areas in our house that are hard to reach. I don't know about you, but in my house those hard to reach areas are hardly ever reached out to as a result. The last thing I want to do is drag a chair or step ladder around dusting my fans, ceiling corners, etc. Besides the up high areas there are also the down low and underneath areas that you can not get to without moving furniture.
Let me start by telling you how much easier it was for me to reach under my daughters crib. Now, I could not go all the way to the back, but I could get close. I wouldn't really expect any vacuum to go all the way back. My previous vacuum just barely got the edge of the underneath.

What I couldn't reach with the actual vacuum I was able to easily get with the attachment system. I no longer have to move the entire crib to vacuum under it.
Along with reaching under her crib, we've been able to vacuum under our dining room table, all the way under. It catches what the dogs didn't and then their hair that they've left behind. We've been able vacuum under our armoire, and countless other areas that do not see much attention.
Now for the up high regions, like my poor fan.

The fan doesn't see a lot of attention. I mean look at it! It has all of those divets that my husband thought looked so cool, well he doesn't have to dust them! These pictures do no justice because I was trying to take them myself and couldn't get me, the vacuum and the hose in the picture. The vacuum was sitting on the floor and the hose was reaching all the way to my ceiling fan without me having to stand on a chair. Amazing.

Stay tuned, there will be more to come!

My favorite things - Cricket Straightening Iron giveaway!

CLOSED

I'm going to start posting one of my favorite things weekly. Sometimes it will have to do with children, sometimes myself, sometimes my husband! I just want to share all the different products I've come across along the way that I love! We're going to kick off the first "My Favorite Things" with a giveaway. This will not always be the case ;)
My first favorite thing has to do with me. I love styling my hair, something that makes this easier is my straightening iron. I'm not giving away the same one I own, but I can tell you that I have used the Cricket, and love it. I own a CHI iron and love it. I've also used FHI irons and love them. We use all 3 in our salon.

I love my iron, because when I'm on the go, as long as my hair is dry I can iron just the top few sections and make it look smooth for a quick do. I can also use it for a night out and put more work into it when I have more time. Yes, the latter looks a little better, but I like that I can give my hair a quick fix as well. All of the irons I use are ceramic, to me this is a necessity to keep your hair in good condition.

Another necessity is a serum or a protective barrier of some sorts to seal your hair follicle. I will be including in the giveaway one of my favorite barriers, Mop Shaping Serum, the ultimate foundation product. I've found it works best when put in wet hair before blow drying or air drying. Always remember that a little big goes a long way.

For your chance to win a brand new Cricket Straight Crazy Ceramic Straightening Iron and your very own bottle of Mop Shaping Serum, just leave me a comment tell me how much you would love to own them, or visit one of the websites and tell me about something else you would like to try or have tried!

SpaTimeBaby Cozy Care Cape - Review and Givewaway

I've recently received my very first innovative Spa Time Baby Cozy Care Cape. It was a great opportunity and I can honestly say the Cozy Care Cape has to be one of the best inventions ever when it comes to bath time.
Whether you have a 4 year old that thinks the bath is his ocean to splash in, or well, an 8 month old who is learning quickly from her brother! I wore the Cozy Care Cape from the beginning until the end when I had to pick Olivia up out of the tub, only this time I did not soak my shirt in the process. I was able to wrap her up warm and cozy against me right away without having to struggle to get a towel wrapped around her slippery wiggly body. Hands down, I love it.
The Cozy Care Cape would also make a wonderful gift for someone with young children or expecting a baby! Spa Time Baby has an array of products that would go nicely with the Cozy Care Cape . I found this Spa Set that would match the Cozy Care Cape that I chose perfectly, along with many other fabulous products and gift sets. There is an assortment of colors, and the items can be personalized as well! I know where I'm shopping for the next baby shower I attend!
All gift sets come beautifully wrapped in a sheer organza pouch.

Here is a little information from Spa Time Baby:

*bath time becomes a relaxing, nurturing and pampering experience

*drying baby is easy, safe and comfortable

*no more tucking a towel under your chin or in your shirt

*keeps caregiver dry with exclusive waterproof panel

*unique cape design keeps your shoulders and arms dry

*caregiver's body is a natural towel warmer

Hello Dyson! Good-bye dust bunnies!

It all began when the FedEx truck pulled into my driveway. I knew this was it, the Dyson was here. I looked around and saw Cheerios under Olivia's seat and hair on the furniture and could only imagine the possibilities! The FedEx LADY, that's right a lady, not a scary bald unshaven man, delivered the Dyson. It could not have arrived at a better time, the kids were napping so I could get it all put together.
I figured out how to open the box, for some reason I think that was the hardest part. In my defense though there was a lot of tape holding it together! With good reason, I'm sure of that because it's going to take a lot of tape for me to get the box sealed back up myself! I took everything out carefully, mentally picturing what each piece of cardboard belongs to for when the sad day comes to ship it back. After that, it took a whole 5 minutes to put it together, if that.
I went right to work in the kitchen, on my hard surface floor in my kitchen. An area previously never touched by a vacuum, only a broom. I could not vacuum any hard surface in my house previously because anything vacuumed up would shoot right out, it didn't matter what setting the vacuum was on. It was truly amazing to watch the power of the suction. I could literally see the cheerios running for their lives. I absolutely love that I do not have to switch the settings on the Dyson according to the height of the floor or carpet. After getting the majority of the surface area in my kitchen I found this under my refrigerator.
(I know, bad judgment on my part buying a stainless steel refrigerator. Between the alphabet magnets and the hot wheels driven across it on a daily basis the poor refrigerator does not stand a chance.)
Scary, I know! I was disgusted, but I have to admit, I do not clean under there as often as I should because it is a pain. My current vacuum has an attachment system that is nearly impossible to use, and when I did go ahead an use it, it hardly sucked. So I would have to take the whole vent apart and hand wash it. The Dyson took care of it all for me. The hose/attachment system on the Dyson could not be easier or more convenient. It has awesome suction. Look at the results...

Amazing! It sucked all of the dust up without me having to take it apart! As a mom I don't have a lot of time, and anything that saves me time, and cleans so well is an awesome investment.
This is what the canister looked like after my kitchen, I vacuumed the floor, and was able to get into each and every crevice with the tools provided. I had no idea there was this much dust, dirt, hair, etc. built up in an area that I sweep at least twice daily.

Thank you again Momdot and Dyson!

Safety Caps review and giveaway

A couple of months ago now a friend of mine gave me a gift, the gift contained
a few things, but one of the most important were the Safety Caps that were
included. They were the most important, because one of my biggest concerns
over my children is making sure they are growing up in a safe environment.
Now, I have a 4 year old and an 8 month old and I think any of us with

children know how important it is to baby proof your home. Immediately upon receiving and opening my Safety Caps I started covering outlets. I've since thrown away any of my old ones, because I am so thoroughly impressed with these. I even recently purchased additional Safety Caps for my sister in-law and another friend of mine.
Since I was so impressed, I decided to look up the website behind the Safety Caps and I discovered an amazing story! George, father and the man behind safety caps, saved his daughters life. She nearly suffocated on a standard size outlet cover and that is when George started researching, and designed a safe product. They are all made in the U.S.A. Please visit the Safety Caps website for the entire story.
Not only do I have safe outlet covers now, but they are clear and not aesthetically hard on the eyes. Another thing I love about them is when I do need an outlet and need to remove the Safety Cap, it is easy enough for me, but not my children.

I then contacted George to tell him how much I appreciated his product and he generously offered to give one of you a chance to win a set of 24 SafetyCaps! Thank you George!
